How does this water softener system work?
Water softener systems operate through basic chemistry. The main tank of the system is filled with negatively charged resin beads. Hard water is caused by high levels of calcium and magnesium, which are both positively charged ions. As hard water pumps through the water softening system, the calcium and magnesium are attracted to the resin beads and removed from your water. The salt water in the brine tank is regularly flushed through the resin beads to rinse off the hardness minerals and keep them working effectively.
