There are four sizes available, and all of them can be installed inside or outside. Your local Culligan water expert will provide recommendations on the best option for you based on your water flow, usage, hardness and pipe size. They may also recommend additional product options to address any other water issues or needs you may have.

Can I use a whole house water softener for well water?
Yes. You can use this water softener for well water; however it is recommended to schedule a free water consultation to find out more about your water and if your home may benefit from filtration as well as softening.
Is a whole house water softener different from a traditional water softener?
No. Whole house systems aren’t different from traditional water softeners. Most traditional water softeners, including all Culligan brand softeners, are whole house systems. They treat your water from the point where it enters your home, providing soft water from every tap. There are some types of specialty softeners that would work differently, treating water at the point of use.
Does the Culligan HE Twin Softener system require more space than a single tank softener?
Because of its unique dual-tank design, this system does require more space (see sizing chart above for more detail). This makes it ideal for homes with higher water usage. To find the type and size of softener that’s best for your needs, start with a free, in-home water test and consultation.
Can one tank continue to operate if the other tank needs maintenance?
Yes. The dual design allows one tank to continue softening even while the other undergoes maintenance or regeneration. That means you’ll have a reliable, uninterrupted supply of soft water whenever you need it.
